ive been doing HA for some time now, made 2,400ish fame and the only thing i noticed in HA now after the 6v6 change is more and more "less then rank 3" people are being able to get into a group thats not iway/henchway/vimway. ive seen a lot of unranked smite/balance compared to the 8v8 pug.

True, but if you look at the ranked teams forming, most of them are r5+ and r8+ meaning that the ranked players are getting their wolf/tiger and will most likely leave HA after that.
Most of the r9+ ppl I know werent trying to get their phoenix in 8v8, they were just playing for fun, not for fame. Nearly all of them have left HA now.
But I feel most sorry for the hardcore iwayers even though im a balanced player myself. I know many ppl will say: "they should have learned to play something else" but thats not the point here. The point is that they really enjoyed playing that build. I've played some ooa/oop in iway (don't flame me now ) and I understand why for many ppl it's such a fun build to play. If I compare that with playing monk (which I play most of the time) it's a lot less stressfull to play. The fact that you hardly see r8+ ViM is a clear fact that the rank r8+ iwayers haven't moved on to ViM and that those iwayers weren't all famefarmers. If they were, then they would have been playing ViM alltogether now. By removing 8v8 Anet took a way a build which was so fun to play for many. Probably I'm one of the few balancedplayers who thinks like this, but IMO, you shouldnt just think about what you like most, but also about what others like a lot, in order to keep a wide audience satisfied.
Judging from what I've read on various forums and ingame it seems that most ppl are in favor of 8v8 even though it'll bring back some builds which many ppl dislike.
Fact remains that you can't keep everyone happy, however, I'd rather see the majority happy than the minority.

seriously have you people ever played HA? wth?? no variety of builds??
and how many builds have been leeching around HA for the past 6 months? about 4 builds dominsted 95% of your opponents, and you are complaining that there is a lack of build variety in 6v6.
Stop romanticising what HA has been like, it's had more stale phases than good due to a combo of skill balances and map mechanics. And now something has come along to shake that up a bit and people cry about it.
It hurts my craw. HA is actually interesting for a change. Before it staisfied a competetive PvP craving like putting hot water on herpes, sure it dulls the itch for a short time, but soon it burns and the herpes spreads until you need to see a doctor and he tells you to stop sleeping with mail order women.

I'm not happy nor sad.
I don't agree with most people
"so signing a petition for restore back the 8vs8, will not be a succes, imao. Cause that meens to restore the blood spike and iway like they was"
Are you seriously think changing to 6 vs 6 will stop iway vimway and b spike/?
Nothing will stop those , they will be around forever.
Now FOTM >> smite build.
I love HA , I play everything except monk ,
Now look at what happening ..
more henchway more smite team.
and honestly not 6 vs 6.
more like 12 vs 6.
I rather play 24 vs 12 than 12 vs 6.
my 2 cents .
Last nite I just standing there in ID 1, for my first time I don't feel like HA anymore. I just standing there reading what everybody doing.
Vimway R 3 + need war
R8+ GLF smiter.
R 6 + GLF tainted Warder.
I know those things going to change little bit after nightfall come out.
My suggestion is increase the number to 12 maybe more.
But Plz do not decrease it.
If people want to have 11 henchies , let them have it.
The more the merrier.
add more maps, add more player, add more drops maybe on each map u win u get drops etc...
it just my 2 cents ....
I will play i don't know how long, most of my friends went to wow already and want me there.
Like JR said , Add 6 vs 6 Arena , even better add 12 vs 12 too.
So you have more to play than lesser

Wow, I think your the first balance player to ever understand why I and many of the people I play with IWAY. That being said, I'm having a blast with 6v6 balance, so I don't really mind the fact that IWAYs gone. On a slightly off-topic note, yesterday I saw a team of all ex-IWAYers (even the monks...) hold halls for like 15 consec with balance. So it seems some of us IWAYers are adapting.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I never ever saw on guildwars.com them saying "ALL NEW MAP CHANGES!!!!!". If I'm not mistaken all ANet stated about maps was "exciting map changes". While I agree with you that the changes are nothing special (I'd be hard pushed to call them exciting changes), I still don't know where you (and many others) are getting this "WTF ANet promised us new maps and didn't deliver!!!" But maybe I missed something on the site, so again, please feel free to correct me if I did indeed miss the part where ANet promised new maps.

Actually, I was oddly under the impression that they were adding "new" maps as well.. I was surprised to find out they just fudged around with the old ones. I mean, the genius's who wrote up the little blurb on the Main Screen and website DID write "the CONVERSATION of HA into 6v6"... Conversation......... they messed up twice. Maybe we weren't seeing things?
Anyway, if there's a petition, I'll sign it. This is no little change Anet made to HA. Its huge. HA 8v8 teams go all the way back to Beta. To suddenly change an entire competitive arena to something only 2 players larger than Team Arena's is absurd, imo.
People say its supposed to help with creativity? Well, why is it only a weekend has passed and I'm already seeing a trend in Henchway holding halls, and AoE Smite Teams / NrTranquility in excess? Anet failed to take into consideration that while everyone started off in PvE, PvP seems to be the natural evolution of an experienced player. Sure HA is not as globally "large" as GvG, and PvE'ers still outnumber PvP'ers, but a lot of people were only still playing GW because of 8v8 HA. A lot of amazing players I know are considering moving on to a different game now because they feel like Anet has done them a huge injustice by changing this.
I'm feeling like Anet is favoring PvE and GvG. PvP seems to be getting the short end of the rope here. PvE is wrought with skill balances all the time, but that I can understand. I would really like to hear from Anet as to their reasons why they would change the gameplay of HA so drastically...... If they want to introduce new players to PvP, thats what Team Arena's is for. As for the rest of us high ranked players, we NEED a competitive 8v8 environment. 6v6 is too tame...
Sigh.
The sad part in all of this is despite how devastated we are, Anet won't change it back. To change it back would mean they are admitting that they made a huge mistake. I don't see that happening anytime soon...
P.S. I kind of miss Burial Mounds

No need 2 point out stupid mistakes, u know what he means.
I have to agree that 6v6 is getting very boring very fast. I have yet to see special new builds, but it is all 8v8 builds adapted 2 6v6. The metagame is stabilizing and every other team is a condition build with at least 2 rangers, and warrior/taint/mesmer. Still loads of gimmicks around, and that will NEVER change no matter what the team size is.
I dont see many new players in HA either.
All Anet did was get rid of some good HA players and turned altar maps into gankfests. gg
The gameplay is kinda stale (all reasons already mentioned in this thread), and i am really missing 8v8.

You know Shard, I was going to post a rebuttal to the fact that you are ALWAYS whining about Anet, but then I downloaded the video posted in the humor section showing iQ running ranger spike in HA, where they were doing /roll 8 to pick a target. Guess who was on the other team? A blood spike team, to be precise? It was YOU, my friend. (and your guild blood spike got rolled)
No wonder you're so worked up about the change to 6v6! You're a blood spiker!
